My Story
A Journey of Service & Community Impact

From serving in the Air Force to supporting maternal health as a doula, and now living in rural Eastern NC, my journey has given me a unique perspective on community needs. I've seen firsthand how proper funding can transform lives across different communities - from veteran support programs to maternal health initiatives and food security projects.

My Path to Grant Writing

Military Service & Community Connection
As a U.S. Air Force veteran, I understand the unique challenges veterans face during transition and beyond. Living in rural Eastern NC has deepened my connection to local communities, showing me firsthand the critical importance of food security and community support systems in underserved areas.
Education & Behavioral Support
My experience as an educator and Registered Behavior Technician taught me the importance of clear communication, measurable outcomes, and individualized support. These skills now help me translate complex grant requirements into clear action steps and create data-driven proposals that demonstrate real impact.
Maternal Health Advocacy
As a birth doula, I've witnessed the critical gaps in maternal healthcare access, especially in rural areas. This experience gives me unique insight into the challenges maternal health organizations face and the vital importance of their work.
